Description

HMS Industrial Networks Inc. is a market-leading manufacturer of Industrial Networking products. HMS is headquartered in Halmstad, Sweden, and has sales and support offices in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Japan, China, Denmark and India. HMS Industrial Networks has an opening for a business development position in its US office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving specification and usage of the Anybus® gateway and Netbiter® remote device management product families with a primary focus on Distributors, Systems Integrators and End Users.  This position will be responsible for managing the distribution channel in the assigned geographic territory, to include the southwest United States, by identifying prospect accounts, making sales calls, providing product demonstrations and pre-sales technical support in order to demonstrate the value of the HMS connectivity solutions to current and prospective customers. 

The candidate must be knowledgeable in Automation and/or Motion Control technologies and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Relocation for this position is not required. This position requires approximately 50% travel.

Requirements

The candidate must have a bachelor’s of science in engineering or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in industrial automation application engineering and technical sales including basic knowledge of PLCs, drives, HMI, I/O, instrumentation, robotics, sensors, and other devices used in industrial control systems.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and possess exceptional communication, customer relation, and organizational skills. Clear and concise written and verbal skills are needed to convey technical concepts. It is also essential to be detail-oriented, and possess strong time management skills.
Knowledge of and experience with industrial communications is a plus.  Common technologies encountered include:

  • Fieldbus Networks (DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, ControlNet, Interbus, CANopen, CC-link, etc.).
  • Industrial Ethernet (Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, etc.).
  • Proprietary networks (Modbus+, Data Highway +, Remote I/O, etc.).
  • Serial communications (Modbus, DF1, ASCII, etc.).

Additional required skills include:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • CRM software (MS-CRM, GoldMine, ACT!, Maximizer, etc.).
  • Internet research

HMS Industrial Networks is seeking an experienced Account Manager for its Chicago (Loop) office.

Role Description
HMS requires an enthusiastic and talented Account Manager to focus on sales of its embedded Anybus products to industrial automation device vendors in North America. HMS products include Anybus standard products, brand label, custom designs and Anybus technology licensing.
HMS Industrial Networks has an industry-leading reputation for the excellence of its products and industrial networking solutions. A successful Account Manager must possess a unique combination of technical aptitude and sales savvy. In addition, a critical part of the HMS sales process involves listening and understanding the specific needs of the customer in order to successfully present the HMS product that best meets those needs.   
The Account Manager will be responsible for developing account sales strategies, building relationships with customers, managing projects and bringing critical customer requirements back into development, production, and marketing.  The Account Manager will also act as a representative of HMS at industry events and meetings.
Relocation for this position is not required. This position requires approximately 50% travel.

  • Basic knowledge of PLCs and manufacturers, drives, HMI, I/O, instrumentation, robotics, sensors, and other devices used in industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and applications. Examples include Modbus, Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, ControlNet, CANopen
  • Previous experience working in a product develop role in embedded firmware development, hardware design or project management is highly desirable
